The Neighborhood House, Inc. a settlement house, was founded in 1909 by St. Paul's Episcopal Church as an information and referral resource for the community. Over the past 100 years, the Neighborhood House, Inc. has provided services on the near eastside of Columbus, Ohio.
Our mission states, "The Neighborhood House, Inc. exists to assist kids, all families and single adults in their efforts to become self-sufficient."
To help families reach their full potential, we currently offer the following services:
- Nest program for expectant parents and/or parents/caregivers of children up to 2 years of age
- Food Pantry
- Senior Services
- After-school Program
- Summer Day Camp
- Child Day Care
- Outpatient Drug & Alcohol Counseling Services
- Community Organizing
- Fiscal Agent
- Notary Public
In 2011 we provided services to over 6,000 individuals.
We operate using a strength-based model. We believe everyone who enters our doors has strengths. We work with those individuals and/or family to identify and use their strengths to meet their goals and needs.
